Before we started filming my scripts, when I wrote, I just wrote. Didn't think about locations, I just put the characters in any location. Now that we film my scripts and other writer's scripts, the locations are the first thing we notice. Can we find a place? Will it cost us anything to use a store or home? If it's an outdoor scene, what about traffic? Is it day or night? So far in our 5 year career, we've been pretty lucky and haven't had to pay for a location. BUT if we filmed at a restaurant, we purchased their food. Just make a mental note on locations when writing.
